PCS青年志愿者主要由PCS毕业生(其中许多人在PCS学习长达12年)以及其它当地学校的中文水平较高的高中生组成。他们以学期为单位,在PCS中文语言课程和文化课程中担任志愿者。

2026年1月17日星期六晚上,PCS青年志愿者和学校管理人员通过Zoom会议平台举行了线上聚会。会议以校长莫小平女士热情洋溢的欢迎致辞拉开序幕。随后,在轻松的自我介绍环节之后,青年志愿者们分享了他/她们在中文语言课程中的经验。青年志愿者们列出了主要任务并进行了讨论。副校长Megan Shi女士提出了如何更深入地参与志愿服务活动的建议。

PCS的青年志愿者都是经过严格选拔的,他们都拥有非凡的才能。他们是美国国家级和宾夕法尼亚州级青年国际象棋(男和女组)、体操、数学、足球、乐器、创意艺术、演讲与辩论、游泳、击剑、冰球和商业竞赛/锦标赛的获奖者。对于那些参与美国没有相关比赛的活动(例如民族舞蹈和武术)的青年志愿者,他们都在各自领域拥有大约10年的经验。在会议期间,青年志愿者们讨论了如何将他们的个人才能延伸到社区,利用他们的专长协助教师,并在PCS的各种文化课程中培养更年轻的学生。

为了最好地服务PCS社区,人力资源总监薛佳女士向青年志愿者们强调了全考勤政策和请假程序。为了成为年轻学生的优秀榜样,辅导员王海滨先生提醒青年志愿者们应该做好哪些事情,以及不应该做哪些事情。

PCS管理人员表达了他们致力于将青年志愿者培养成杰出人才的热情,不仅在学术和课外竞赛方面,而且在社区服务方面也要有所建树。学校为青年志愿者们列出了额外的志愿服务机会,例如8月份的PCS年度野餐、9月份的开学日图书分发、2月份的春节庆祝活动以及其他各种表演机会。

副校长Megan Shi女士还介绍了PCS关于志愿服务时间证书、志愿服务贡献认可和PCS社区服务奖的政策,以及可能获得的国家级社区服务奖。 PCS董事会副主席熊伟先生和全校活动主任魏文仲先生也出席了会议,对青年志愿者们表示了大力支持。

PCS youth volunteers mainly consist of PCS graduates (a lot of them studies in PCS up to 12 years), high school students in other local schools who have significant level of Chinese Proficiency. They volunteer in PCS Mandarin Chinese Language Classes and Cultural Classes, in a semester basis.

In 1/17/2026 Saturday evening, PCS Youth Volunteers and School Administrators gathered together via Zoom meeting. The meeting started with a warm welcome speech by principal Ms. Xiaoping Mo. Then after ice-breaking self-introduction, the youth volunteers shared their experience in Mandarin Chinese Language classes. Main tasks were listed out and discussed by the youth. The ways to be involved more and deeper were suggested by vice principal Ms. Megan Shi.

The highly selected youth volunteers in PCS are all with extraordinary talents. They are winners of US national level and PA state level competitions/tournaments in Youth Chess (both boy and girl), Gymnastics, Mathematics, Soccer, Music Instruments, Creative Arts, Speech & Debate, Swimming, Fencing, Ice Hockey and Business. For youth volunteers participating in activities with No-tournaments
available in USA such as ethnic dances and Kung Fu, they all played in the fields around 10 years. During the meeting, the youth talked about how to extend their personal talents into the community, to use their experts to assist teachers and cultivate the younger students in all PCS Cultural Classes.

To serve the PCS community to the best degree, Director of Human Resources Ms. Jia Xue emphasized the full attendance policy and procedures for absent notice to the youth volunteers. Aiming to be the great role models for the younger students, youth volunteers have been alarmed with things they should do well and things they should NOT do by Guidance Mr. Haibing Wang.

The PCS administrators expressed their passion to cultivate the youth volunteers into shining images not only in academics and extra curriculum tournaments, but also in community service. Extra volunteer opportunities such as PCS Annual Picnic in August, 1st Day of School Book Distribution in September, Spring Festival Celebration in February, and other various Performance chances have been
listed out for the youth.

Vice principal Ms. Megan Shi also talked about PCS policies on Volunteer Time Certificate, acknowledgement of volunteer contribution, and PCS community service award, along with possible National community service award. PCS board vice chair Mr. Wei Xiong and Director of School-Wide Activities Mr. Wenzhong Wei also attended the meeting, showing great support to the youth volunteers.
