PCS Successfully Completes the 4th Annual Food Drive
In response to rising living costs and the growing needs of local families, Pittsburgh Chinese School (PCS) successfully completed its 4th Annual Food Drive in the fall of 2025.
The Food Drive was held over four Sundays—October 26, November 2, November 9, and November 16, concluding on November 16. Donations were collected by language class groups and were all donated to JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry (located at 828 Hazelwood Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217). The pantry distributes donated items to families in need within the local community and is part of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank network.
As part of the Community Food Bank system, JFCS accepted three categories of donations:
nonperishable food items, personal care products, and diapers.
Through the collective efforts of PCS families, a total of 256 pounds of donations were contributed.
The event was organized and carried out by PCS Youth Volunteers Allison Shi, Alice Yang, Alexander, Yuxuan Gao, Anya Ji, and Allan Wang, with PCS Board members assisting in delivering the donations to the food pantry.
PCS extends its sincere appreciation to all students, families, volunteers, and staff who participated. The school remains committed to serving the community and fostering a spirit of compassion and social responsibility among its students.
