RASC committee
is working with CCTF on rebuild a school
RASC committee
selected China Children and Teenagers'
Foundation (CCTF)
to help rebuild A School in earthquake affected
area on June 30 and has been working closely
with CCTF since then. CCTF will help RASC to
find a school, monitor the rebuilding project
and report the project progress on a given time
interval. At moment, CCTF has identified an
elementary school based on RASC’s three major
screening criterions:
1. The school will
name after
Pittsburgh,
2. The rebuilding
process can be started immediately,
3. The cost is within
RASC’s fundraising capability.
The new school will
be named as “Pittsburgh
Chunlei
School”. The school
is located at Lizhou district of Guangyuan city
in Sichuan Province.
The total amount for
rebuilding the elementary school is
1,830,000RMB, from which it requests a financial
aid of 700,000RMB (approx. $103,000.00) from the
CCTF, the local government matches the remaining
of 1,130,000RMB. Therefore RSAC’s share of
rebuilding the school is $103,000.00. Currently
RASC has raised $83,000.00 and is about
$20,000.00 short of the fund.
RASC committee is
currently reviewing the options including
fundraising campaign of additional $20,000.00,
as well as the alternative.
